The Mexico Cricket Association is the annually elected body that presides over and has responsibilities for cricket in Mexico and is a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the Americas Region which has the responsablity to oversee cricket throughout the continent and the Caribbean Islands.
The MCA's main role is to promote, support and supervise the development of the sport and its players in a variety of different ways, including a competitive league of eight teams in two divisions in order to ensure that the long and illustrious tradition of cricket in Mexico is looked after and that cricket in the country today might burgeon.
Outside of Mexico City, cricket is currently thriving in Cancun, Guadalajara and in the town of Tequisquiapan, Queretaro.
This year the MCA is establishing a far-reaching new programme of youth outreach which is designed to enourage young Mexican players to take up the sport and continue with it into their adult years. In the last year alone, more Mexican players played the sport than in the previous twenty years combined. See video below
